Tectonic’s Corporate Orange County, NY Office is currently seeking an experienced Instrument Person to work full-time on various projects throughout the NY Metro area.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The essential functions of this position include the setup, maintenance, and operation of all field survey equipment, the operation of survey instruments in the field including total stations, levels, data collectors, GPS, and other standard survey equipment. They will also prepare survey sites and remove all obstacles, including debris, brush, tree limbs, etc. Essential functions also include maintaining neat and accurate field records and survey notes, assisting the Crew Chief in field day to day operations, maintaining field vehicles and supplies, uploading and downloading data collection information and photographs, and all other duties as assigned. Please note that overnight travel may be required for this position.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum of 2 years land surveying experience, with the ability to demonstrate a working knowledge of surveying equipment;
- Must be detail oriented, with the ability to perform basic mathematical calculations;
- Must be available to work overtime as needed, and be available for travel for overnight assignments;
- Must possess a HS Diploma or equivalent; AAS in Surveying a plus;
- Must have or be able to obtain required OSHA training within a reasonable period of time;
- Must possess a valid, clean, driver’s license.

The offered pay may be outside of the provided salary range based upon the selected candidate’s work location, experience, education, certifications, and capabilities compared to the advertised position. The pay range and benefits package offered for this position are based upon a Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Pay Range: $36.30 / hour
