Tectonic Management Group, Inc. has a great new opportunity for an experienced and collaborative construction superintendent on the Western Slope of Colorado. The project is focused on Tectonics’ expertise in business aviation facilities. Your role will be to assist in the coordinating and managing of onsite activities of this high-quality project with subcontractors in a safe and efficient manner throughout construction and final project delivery.
CONSTRUCTION SUPERINTENDENT – Roles & Responsibilities:
Field Coordination and Communication
- Act as the full-time on-site representative, proactively leading construction projects to meet the company's vision.
- Provide clear direction to on-site teams, remove obstacles, and find solutions to maintain project momentum.
- Communicate with the Project Manager and office staff at least twice daily, offering status updates, addressing field issues, and requesting support as necessary.
Schedule Maintenance
- Develop and maintain detailed schedules for on-site tasks and activities, ensuring they align with the overall project schedule.
- Regularly update the Project Manager on progress, ensuring that the master schedule reflects the current project status.
- Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, and service providers to ensure adherence to the project schedule and resolve any delays promptly.
Daily Reports and Meetings
- Complete daily reports accurately, documenting all on-site activities, progress, and any issues encountered using the provided guidelines.
- Lead weekly subcontractor coordination and safety meetings, documenting outcomes, contractor commitments, and any schedule adjustments using the provided guidelines.
- Lead subcontractor pre-construction meetings, review details, and complete pre-con packet prior to start of subcontractor onsite activities.
Quality Assurance
- Oversee construction activities to ensure they meet project specifications, drawings, and industry standards.
- Administer the Tectonic quality testing program, coordinating with testing agencies and verifying documentation of underground and concealed items before they are covered.
- Monitor compliance with subcontractor contracts, including scope of work.
Scope and Design Confirmation
- Verify scope and design questions with the Project Manager or Architect before making any deviations from the drawings or specifications.
Team Collaboration
- Foster a team-oriented environment, utilizing all available resources to achieve project objectives and ensuring successful outcomes.
Owner and Stakeholder Communication
- Maintain open communication with the Owner and other key stakeholders, providing regular updates on project progress and addressing any concerns promptly.
- Attend regular Owner meetings with Project Manager
Safety Program Administration
- Administer the site safety program and ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Provide necessary safety equipment and ensure all personnel adhere to safety protocols.
Documentation and Compliance
- Maintain and update construction documents on-site, ensuring they are current and accessible.
- Slip sheet BTNs as released into the plan sets and document field changes on Record set.
Budget and Cost Management
- Assist the Project Manager in monitoring the project budget, reviewing and verifying change orders, and managing work authorizations.
- Manage general site requirements within the budget, coordinating expenses with the office and tracking commitments.
Site Management
- Ensure the construction site remains clean, organized, and safe.
- Oversee site logistics, including labor and vendor coordination, to maximize efficiency.
