About Us:
Tectonics is based in Auburn Hills, MI, and operates production facilities in Auburn Hills and Las Vegas. We have three business units that all exemplify excellence in digital print technology: print-on-demand (B2B); exhibit and retail (B2B); direct to consumer (DTC).
Print-on-demand: our partners sell DTC across a variety of personalized apparel, home décor and packaging websites. We perform the entire operations value chain from order ingestion to consumer fulfillment for print-cut-sew and other products. We specialize in mass personalization of manufacture-to-fulfillment products – with zero inventory – and also provide product development & fashion design capabilities in-house.
Exhibit and retail: we design and manufacture visual communication experiences for tradeshows, brick-and-mortar stores and a variety of other venues requiring visual signage, graphics and display structures. We employ digital manufacturing methods across aluminum extrusion profiles; tubing; dye sublimation; and 3D printed parts. Products are typically custom designs, along with a family of parametric structures.
Direct to consumer: we operate our own DTC eCommerce brands and online storefronts. our production model is low- to no-inventory and is manufacture-to-fulfillment. Products span a variety of consumer and home décor categories. Additional stealth home décor brand scheduled to launch in FY21.

Position Overview:
The Estimator will be responsible for producing accurate cost estimates of targeted projects and material sales. Project cost estimates will be created by the evaluation of cost specifically related to materials, labor, processing, and additional services required to complete a project. This information will serve to guide the decision making process based on projected profitability and the company’s ability to deliver the completed project profitably within the customer’s required scope and timetable.
Key Job Functions:
- Analyze blueprints and other documentation to prepare project time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.
- Assess cost effectiveness of products, projects or services, track actual costs relative to estimate as the project develops.
- Consult with clients, vendors or personnel in other departments to discuss cost estimates and resolve open items related to project estimates.
- Discuss changes with project team and adjustments to cost estimates.
- Prepare estimates for purposes such as planning, organizing, and scheduling work.
- Prepare estimates for use in selecting vendors or subcontractors.
- Set up cost monitoring and reporting systems and procedures.
- Identifies resources needed and assigns individual responsibilities.
- Prepares for project reviews and quality assurance procedures.
- Ensures project estimate documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately.
- Complies with and helps to enforce standard policies and procedures.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills and experience with this application.
- Strong Math and analytical skills.
- Design and engineering knowledge, preferred
- Overtime (or ability to work irregular hours) may be required to meet project estimating volume.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- College Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in finance or project management.
Salary : $57,000 - $62,000
