Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and bilingual (Spanish and English) Contract Construction Manager to oversee home and small commercial construction projects. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, extensive knowledge of construction processes, and the ability to manage multiple projects efficiently. This role involves coordinating subcontractors, ensuring compliance with safety and building codes, maintaining schedules, and keeping projects within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage home and small commercial construction projects from inception to completion.
- Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, vendors, and labor teams to ensure efficient workflow.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, ensuring all deadlines are met.
- Monitor project budgets and expenses, implementing cost-saving strategies where necessary.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal building codes and safety regulations.
- Conduct regular site inspections to assess work quality and adherence to design specifications.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, addressing concerns and providing project updates.
- Prepare and maintain detailed project documentation, including contracts, change orders, and reports.
- Troubleshoot construction challenges and implement effective problem-solving strategies.
- Ensure a safe work environment by enforcing safety protocols and conducting safety meetings.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in residential and small commercial construction management.
- Fluency in both Spanish and English (written and spoken) is required.
- Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and industry best practices.
- Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction documents.
- Strong negotiation skills for working with subcontractors and suppliers.
- Valid driver’s license and the ability to travel to multiple job sites as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with sustainable building practices and energy-efficient construction.
- OSHA certification or other safety training credentials.
