About the Position
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Geriatric Mental Health Care Specialist to contribute to our team at TEEMA. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in psychiatric care, particularly with geriatric populations.
Main Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of geriatric patients to identify mental health needs and develop individualized treatment plans.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to provide evidence-based interventions for mental health disorders prevalent in older adults, such as depression, anxiety, and dementia-related behaviors.
- Prescribe and manage medications, while also providing psychotherapy and counseling services to address emotional and behavioral concerns.
- Educate patients, families, and caregivers about mental health conditions, treatment options, and strategies for managing symptoms.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic medical records (EMR) documenting patient assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes.
Key Qualifications
- A Master's degree in clinical nursing from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
- At least 3-5 years of experience in psychiatric care, preferably with geriatric populations.
- State licensure as a Nurse Practitioner with prescriptive authority.
- Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills, excellent communication abilities, and a commitment to providing compassionate, patient-centered care.
