About the Job:
The ideal candidate will be a compassionate and experienced Nurse Practitioner (NP) who is passionate about providing high-quality care to geriatric patients with mental health needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess and diagnose geriatric patients with mental health disorders, developing effective treatment plans to address their unique needs.
- Prescribe and manage medications to ensure optimal therapeutic outcomes and minimize side effects.
- Provide counseling and education to patients, families, and caregivers to promote understanding and self-management of mental health conditions.
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care and optimal patient outcomes.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest research and best practices in geriatric psychiatry, applying this knowledge to improve patient care and outcomes.
Requirements:
- A Master's degree in clinical nursing from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
- 3-5 years of nursing experience, preferably as a Nurse Practitioner.
- State licensure as a Nurse Practitioner with prescriptive authority.
- Experience working in psychiatric care, preferably with geriatric populations.
