  • Design of deep foundation (drilled shafts, CFA piles, micropiles), ground improvement, and retaining wall systems (CIP, MSE, Segmental Gravity, Soldier Pile and Lagging, Soil Nail, etc.)
  • Formulation of design basis methodology and performance of hand / software calculations
  • Develop / maintain existing design clients through interpersonal relationships and with assistance from other senior staff.
  • Manage projects from proposal preparation to final closeout
  • Mentor / Assign design tasks to EIT design engineers
  • Interact with CAD staff on design details and plan notes
  • Communicate results of engineering analysis, calculations, plans, and recommendations to clients
  • Other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions

  • In addition to an office setting the candidate may be exposed to outside weather conditions such as wet and / or humid environments, extreme cold and / or heat, dusty and noisy work environments.
  • Some travel may be required.
  • What you must have :

  • Bachelor's degree (B.S.) ABET or an accredited four-year college or university in civil engineering or related field.
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license or ability to obtain within 1 year of employment.
  • Familiarity with modern office tools including the use of computer-based programs Microsoft Office, Excel, etc. Any experience such as Settle, SLIDE, AutoCAD, LPILE, GROUP
  • Possession of a valid Tennessee driver license and an acceptable driving record
  • Experience with geotechnical design or specialty geotechnical construction (deep foundations, retaining walls, etc).
  • Nice to have :

  • Master's level degree or exposure to core civil engineering disciplines through coursework (M.S. or Ph.D.) or work experience in geotechnical engineering
  • Engineering / Construction background
