Location: Charlotte, NC (Hybrid – 2 days onsite per week)
Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time
Salary: $95K - $120K
Overview:
Our client, an industry leader in the private equity space, is seeking an experienced Senior VDI Administrator. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in VMware Horizon VDI solutions, be proficient in building and maintaining Windows 10 VDI images, and possess L3 support experience. This role requires excellent technical skills, effective communication, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Key Responsibilities:
- VDI Image Management:
- Build and maintain Windows 10 VDI images.
- Package applications into AppStacks.
- Infrastructure Management:
- Maintain and support VMware Horizon solutions (both cloud-based and on-premises).
- Support Azure Virtual Desktop solutions.
- Monitor the VDI infrastructure using VMware and in-house tools.
- Monitor Service Desk queues and manage incidents in accordance with quality guidelines.
- Operational Support:
- Provide L3 support for Windows 10 non-persistent/floating VDI and Multi-session desktops.
- Respond to and comply with escalation policies and procedures.
- Provide prompt operational support via telephone, voicemail, and email.
- Participate in an on-call rotation (approximately 1 out of every 3 weeks).
- Resolve and document system errors and performance issues.
- Perform root cause analysis of critical errors and outages.
Required Qualifications:
- Experience & Skills:
- 3-5 years of experience with VMware Horizon VDI solutions.
- Proven L3 support experience.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain VDI images.
- Experience deploying, managing, monitoring, and troubleshooting VDI environments.
- Familiarity with VMware Horizon Cloud.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Azure public cloud.
- Additional Skills (Preferred):
- Experience with Azure Virtual Desktop.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Windows 10 multi-session environments.
- Familiarity with Microsoft FSLogix.
- Proficiency in PowerShell scripting.
- Experience with ThinPrint.
- Basic Linux knowledge.
- Communication & Collaboration:
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with customers and team members.
- Self-motivated, innovative, and analytical with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
