Job Summary
Provide technical assistance to achieve company metrics related to Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost. Provide instruction and training to employees for maximum efficiency and throughput. The Technical Leader understands and is capable of performing all tasks required of machine set up, troubleshoot, operation and inspection equipment to required customer specifications. This is a hands-on Team leadership position.
Role and Responsibilities
- Capable of setting-up and operating production equipment.
- Responsible for overseeing and monitoring of production equipment and tool repair process.
- Can read and understand 2D drawings and CAD models of production tooling.
- Participates in accident investigations occurring within the department and defines corrective action to eliminate the root cause.
- Understanding of Core Tools - RCCA, PFMEA, and Control Plans
- Responsible for enforcing safety policies, maintaining safe, clean and organized department at all times by educating and directing the employees.
- Confirms that all departments are producing product to the company standard.
- Maintain a positive work environment..
- Actively communicates with the Production Supervisor.
- Participate in machine operation investigations and offer solutions for continuous improvements.
- Understands and is committed to abiding by the Quality Policy and company's goals and objectives.
- Other duties as assigned
Level of Skill, Education and Experience
Associates degree or equivalent experience in machine maintenance, toolmaking and at least 5-8 years experience as a machinist in a small device-manufacturing environment is required. Experience in medical device manufacturing or micro manufacturing is a plus. Must be able to read blue prints, drawings, specifications and quality plans and have very strong oral and written communication skills, be able to follow written and verbal instructions and be capable of meeting assigned deadlines. Good manual dexterity and ability to use measurement and inspection tools like micrometers, microscope, etc. Good work habits, strong workmanship and a positive attitude are required.
