Purpose
The Total Rewards Specialist will support the Senior Benefits Specialist utilizing employee data to improve and standardize business processes in the areas of compensation, benefits, and Total Rewards projects. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, extensive knowledge of compensation and benefits programs. The Total Rewards Specialist is responsible for various data support and analysis related to Total Rewards plans and policies and compliance with local legislation.
Focus & Scope
Essential duties and responsibilities, i.e. those which are basic, necessary, and an integral part of the job, are indicated below:
Technical / Specialty Area
Administers employee benefits programs, such as group health, flexible spending accounts, dental and vision, accident and disability, life insurance, 401(k), and wellness benefits.
Conducts benefits orientations and explains benefits to employees, including during new hire orientation.
Maintains employee benefits filing systems and ensures benefits changes are entered appropriately in payroll system for payroll deduction.
Performs quality checks of benefits-related data.
Preps and leads all open enrollments, including distributing all benefits enrollment materials and determining eligibility.
Assists employees regarding benefits claim issues and plan changes.
Responds to benefits inquiries from managers and employees on plan provisions, benefits enrollments, status changes and other general inquiries.
Administers compensation programs for employees in multiple states, geographic areas and industries. Ensures compensation ranges are competitive and in line with the Company’s compensation design.
Performs job evaluations, assessment and interpretation of salary data.
Provides input to and manages the approved wage and salary policies in accordance with the corporate policies and procedures; research market trends, external equity, incentive compensation, and compliance with governmental wage and hour regulations, keeping in mind geographic and industry nuances.
Collects, recommends and processes data for annual salary increase process.
Ensure data integrity and accuracy within the HR systems. Perform ad-hoc reporting related to employee data, focusing on employee analysis, compensation, and benefits modeling.
Monitor marketing trends and make recommendations for new programs or enhancements to existing ones.
Manage and support projects related to compensation and benefits reporting. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and validate data required for compliance reporting. Develop project plans, timelines, and deliverables to ensure successful project completion.
Participate in internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and analysis.
Work closely with HR, Finance, internal teams, and external vendors to provide support and guidance on Total rewards data matters.
Serve as a subject matter expert on compensation and benefits, employee reporting requirement.

Role Qualifications & Requirements
Education:
BA/BS in Human Resources, Business Administration, Information Systems, Finance, or other related analytical degree preferably in the construction, mining, or utility industry or equal combinations of education and experience. Understanding of data analysis techniques is required.
Experienced & Industry Expertise:
Experience in the assigned specialty is required and an understanding of one or more areas of the human resources function through the application of accepted techniques, principles and practices.
Areas of specialty may be wage and salary administration, benefits administration, recruitment/employment, compliance, training and development, labor relations, EEO/AA Administration, etc. May research, develop, and update programs and policies for assigned specialty.
7+ years of work experience in total rewards, HRIS, Data analysis role
SHRM Total Rewards Specialty Credential (or equivalent designation) preferred.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to interpret complex data sets and provide actionable insights.
In-depth knowledge of data structure, compensation and benefits programs.
Proficiency with Excel, Power BI, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.
Proficient with HRIS Systems.
Well-developed communication skills, creativity, and independence.
Attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy in data reporting.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Specific Job Requirements:
Successful completion of pre-employment drug, alcohol, and background investigation.
Valid Driver’s License.
Current on all company required safety and regulatory training.
Ability to preserve confidential and proprietary information and successfully avoid conflicts-of-interest.
Strong knowledge of Human Resource laws, regulations, practices and methodologies.

Equipment Used:
General office equipment, telephone, personal protective equipment (i.e. safety glasses, hearing protection) when visiting construction sites.

BASE SALARY RANGE:
$76,667.00 - $107,333.00
The range displayed reflects the range the company reasonably expects to pay for the position. The actual base salary is subject to variation due to the role, level, geographic location, relevant education, training, or experience, among other factors.
