Job Summary
Operate a tandem extruder to produce high-quality materials safely and efficiently. Set up, troubleshoot, and maintain the machine. Work closely with your crew to meet production goals.
Shift Hours: 2:45 PM - 11:00 PM
Key Responsibilities
Production & Machine Operation
- Set up, operate, and shut down extruder equipment.
- Load raw materials, monitor machine settings, and adjust as needed.
- Perform quality checks and make process adjustments.
- Change rolls, screens, resins, and other key components.
- Handle basic maintenance and troubleshooting.
Administrative Tasks
- Complete production paperwork accurately.
- Track materials used and log machine performance.
- Follow production orders and setup guidelines (MOP/SOP).
Communication & Teamwork
- Work closely with crew and supervisors to keep operations running smoothly.
- Share shift updates and production concerns clearly.
Quality & Safety
- Inspect materials and products for defects.
- Make process changes to fix quality issues.
- Follow all safety protocols and wear required PPE.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization per GMP standards.
Qualifications
- Basic reading and math skills required.
- Completion of IVO, GMP, JSA, and other required trainings.
- 2 years of experience as an extruder helper; 1 year as an assistant.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
- Good communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to read lab data, adjust processes, and maintain quality standards.
Physical Requirements
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Frequent bending, squatting, and reaching.
- Work in indoor heat up to 100°F.
- Comfortable using tools for minor adjustments.
