Job Summary
Responsible for the leadership and direction of all plant operations of Injection Molding, IML, Printing, Die Cutting and Foil while ensuring Safety, Quality, Culture and profitability levels are maintained. This position will also lead departmental budget preparation, capital expenditure, staffing, and footprint forecasting in partnership with the finance team & FFS leadership.
Duties And Responsibilities
Drives safe workplace practices through demonstrated leadership & adherence to Tekni Safety programs & policies.
Leads local team to meet/exceed manufacturing goals by communicating job expectations, planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, and counseling employees at all levels; collaborating to achieve results.
Assigns or delegates responsibility for specified work or functional activities and partners with HR and local leadership to disseminate policies to supervisors, process technicians, operators and packers.
Provides work instructions, resolves problems, prepares schedules and sets deadlines to ensure timely completion of work, ensuring customer orders are completed; ensuring we are driving customer value.
Partners with HR to maintains staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees; developing personal growth opportunities and ensuring we are attracting, embracing, and empowering people.
Maintains work flow by monitoring steps of the process; setting processing variables; observing control points and equipment; monitoring personnel and resources; studying methods; implementing cost reductions; developing reporting procedures and systems; facilitating corrections to malfunctions within process control points; initiating and fostering a spirit of cooperation & collaboration within and between departments; taking every opportunity to optimize our work with regard to production capability and reducing cycle time, improving efficiency and overall productivity.
Collaborate effectively & efficiently with other FFS locations and departments to ensure consistency of operational methods, reporting, etc for the greater good; ensuring we win as a team.
Partners with Finance to monitor and analyze costs and prepares budget. Prepares reports and records on department activities for management.
Evaluates current procedures and practices for accomplishing GMP compliance, department objectives to develop and implement improvements in procedures and practices; Recommend and implement changes to product or process in order to improve cost, delivery and quality; transforming ideas into action.
Collaborates with HR to evaluate performance of staff by coaching employees, conducting performance appraisals, training and development.
Partner with local leadership team to ensure product and process adhere to quality assurance standards by performing audits and recommending corrective action procedures.
Perform other related duties that contribute to the success of the operation as assigned by manager.
Qualifications
Minimum 5 years demonstrated success leading teams. Minimum of 10 years of experience in Injection Molding manufacturing environment; Die Cutting experience a plus. Bilingual English/Spanish required. Must have Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Management, or related field. Previous experience with Continuous Improvement, Lean, six sigma and 5S programs and initiatives highly desirable.
