Job Overview :
The Lead Manufacturing Engineer will play a critical role in overseeing the setup, operation, and maintenance of injection molding equipment and processes. This position requires a strategic thinker with hands-on expertise in optimizing molding processes, maintaining equipment, and driving improvements to ensure product quality and manufacturing efficiency.
Essential Functions :
Lead the setup, programming, and operation of injection molding machines to meet production requirements.
Drive the transfer of tooling from off-shore vendors to our facility in Scottsdale, AZ
Develop, implement, and optimize molding processes for new and existing products to improve efficiency and quality.
Perform troubleshooting and preventive maintenance on injection molding machines, molds, and auxiliary equipment.
Collaborate with design and product development teams to provide input on mold design for manufacturability.
Analyze production data to identify trends and implement corrective actions for process improvements.
Train and mentor technicians and junior engineers on best practices in injection molding operations and maintenance.
Manage relationships with vendors and suppliers to ensure the timely procurement of equipment and parts.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality standards
Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for production and quality issues.
Stay updated with industry trends, technologies, and advancements in injection molding.
Basic Qualifications
Education and Experience :
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
7 years of experience in injection molding, including machine setup, process optimization, and maintenance.
Master Molder Certification strongly preferred.
Technical Skills :
Extensive experience with injection molding machines and related technologies.
Strong understanding of mold design, material selection, and processing parameters.
Deep knowledge of PC / ABS, Nylons, TPU / TPE overmolding and other materials.
Soft Skills :
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Strong communication and leadership abilities.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
