- Design and implement automation solutions for equipment projects, focusing on PLC programming, vision systems, and HMI programming.
- Develop electrical panel designs and configure PLC programs for standard equipment/products.
- Lead and conduct complex quality checks requiring in-depth knowledge of machine control systems.
- Develop project plans, manage time effectively, and lead small project teams to meet targets.
- Conduct and monitor validation master plans for the automation engineering program, including routine and preventive maintenance.
- Analyze operational processes, recommend corrective actions, and implement improvements.
- Generate and develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and system support documentation.
- Participate in site-wide teams, ensuring cybersecurity alignment and direction for automation systems.
- Perform control logic modifications, requiring a deep understanding of manufacturing or scientific processes.
- Author and execute change control processes related to automation systems.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical training as needed.
- Communicate progress and issues clearly to peers and leadership teams.
- 5 years of experience as an Automation Engineer.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience required.
- Proficiency with PLC programming, HMI programming, and electrical panel design.
- Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Experience with GMP/Validation practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) with intermediate skills in authoring/editing large technical documents.
- Strong attention to detail, clear communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Knowledge of automated utility, processing, filing, inspection, and packaging equipment.
- ARS/AGV experience is a plus.
- Experience with control systems validation and generating user requirement specifications for these systems.
- Ability to read logic, perform programming, and update control system documentation as needed.
- Experience in cybersecurity for control systems.
- Familiarity with automation system validation and performing protocol execution.
