Responsibilities:
- Grind external and internal surfaces of parts to precise dimensions using OD/ID grinders.
- Set-up grinders by installing and adjusting workpieces, tools, and attachments according to work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, and specifications.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, including geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T), ensuring accurate and efficient machining.
- Verify settings by measuring positions, first-run parts, and sample workpieces as per supplied operation drawings and quality plans.
- Maintain specifications by observing grinding, cutting, and finishing operations; taking measurements; troubleshooting processes; adjusting, reprogramming controls; replacing worn tools; and adhering to quality assurance standards.
- Ensure safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations at all times.
Experience and Education:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience operating OD/ID grinders in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical mechanical drawings with a solid understanding of GD&T.
- Basic mathematical skills and the ability to measure and calculate dimensions accurately.
- Prior experience with CNC OD/ID grinders or Blanchard grinders is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
