Position Overview:
The Production Planner will be responsible for coordinating production schedules, managing work orders, and ensuring on-time delivery of customer orders. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with multiple departments, including production, engineering, and purchasing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain production schedules to meet customer demands and internal capacity constraints
- Monitor work orders, prioritize jobs, and adjust schedules as needed to ensure on-time delivery
- Collaborate with manufacturing teams to resolve scheduling conflicts and optimize workflow
- Analyze capacity planning and recommend adjustments to improve efficiency
- Track inventory levels and work closely with procurement to ensure material availability
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance production planning and scheduling
- Communicate regularly with production, quality, and logistics teams to ensure alignment
- Utilize ERP/MRP systems to manage scheduling and production data
Qualifications:
- Experience: 3 years in production planning, scheduling, or manufacturing coordination
- Industry Background: Aerospace, defense, precision machining, or related manufacturing experience preferred
- Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in ERP/MRP systems (Epicor, SAP, or similar) and Microsoft Excel
- Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot scheduling and workflow challenges effectively
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with cross-functional teams
- Education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Manufacturing, or related field preferred
