About the Role
We are seeking a Regional Manager to oversee the daily operations and financial performance of a portfolio of 13 properties (1,160 units) across Westchester, Suffolk, and Nassau Counties, NY. This role requires expertise in affordable housing, property management, and financial oversight. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing residential properties, ensuring compliance with housing regulations, and leading a high-performing team.
The Regional Manager will report to the Assistant Vice President and collaborate with Compliance, Property Finance, Asset Management, and external housing authorities to maintain operational efficiency and maximize NOI.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily operations, financial performance, and occupancy levels of assigned properties.
- Ensure compliance with affordable housing regulations, including LIHTC, HUD-Section 8, and Rural Development programs.
- Lead and develop a team, including recruiting, training, performance management, and mentorship.
- Drive budgeting, financial planning, and cost control strategies to maximize NOI.
- Collaborate with key internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth property operations.
- Maintain strong resident relations, ensuring high satisfaction and retention.
- Monitor vacancy rates and implement strategies to optimize occupancy.
- Utilize Yardi Voyager and Microsoft Office Suite to manage financials and property operations.
- Participate in quarterly property management meetings, training programs, and company conferences (may require overnight stays).
Requirements
- 3 years as a Regional or District Manager overseeing residential properties (700 units preferred).
- 5 years in residential apartment site management.
- 4 years in affordable housing compliance (LIHTC, HUD-Section 8, Rural Development).
- 2 years of supervisory experience in team development and performance management.
- Prior experience in budgeting, financial planning, and maximizing NOI.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel).
- Experience with Yardi Voyager or similar property management software is a plus.
- Bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Industry certifications in affordable housing/property management (preferred or willing to obtain).
- Strong organizational, time-management, and multitasking skills to meet deadlines.
- Excellent decision-making, problem-solving, and leadership abilities.
- Flexibility for regional travel and attendance at industry events, training programs, and meetings.
Salary : $81,100 - $109,200
