Description
Our client's Network Engineering team is looking for a Network Engineer to work a specific project on their firewalls -- Looking for a mid-to-senior level network engineer with Palo Alto experience, specifically to work on a project to eliminate a vWire configuration. This person would be on site daily to better work with my team.
Our client currently has a high-availability (HA) Active/Passive pair of Palo Alto 5250 firewalls. There is an ongoing project aimed at converting the remaining vWires to Layer 3, as well as cleaning up the firewall rules, virtual systems (vsys), routing, and zones.
This is a complex and time-consuming initiative that will require significant, uninterrupted, and dedicated time to complete. The project will be executed in phases, as the vWires and vsys are integral to production data. Therefore, careful planning is essential to ensure that the work is divided into manageable sections, minimizing the risk of any service interruptions.

Additionally, the engineer will need to be available during the actual cutover day to troubleshoot any issues that may arise. The Network Engineering team will handle the routing configuration and will be available for support during these cutover events.
Traffic will need to be identified to see which vsys, interfaces, and zones are involved, in order to replicate to new Layer 3 model.
There may be situations where the traffic is just from one untrust to another, or from one trust to another.

The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $67.00/hr.
