Telecom Design Engineer-*100% Remote*-$55/hr. W2

TEKsystems is currently seeking a Telecom Design Engineer with their PE for a 100% Remote 1 year contract opening.
Tasks & Responsibilities:

• Leading and participating in design activities on various telecom systems for our customers
• Working collaboratively within the Engineering team and with our customers, including other engineers/designers, CAD specialists, project managers, and others
• Outlining, coordinating, and communicating engineering requirements for relevant systems
• Providing direction and guidance on system design & specification as per customers' engineering practice requirements, relevant codes & standards, and standard engineering best practices

Writing detailed design specifications, system functional narratives/descriptions
Bill of Materials (BOM) Development, Review, Procurement support
Coverage Modeling & Surveying for RF Systems
Directing design & coordinating with CAD specialists to develop system plans including:
o Telecommunications systems Block Diagrams
o Communications Rack/Cabinet Elevation & Wiring Diagrams
o System floor plans & layouts
o Installation details
Overseeing vendor fabrication, development & execution of QA/QC Inspection Procedures
Leading development of Construction/Installation Work Packages
Guiding development of Testing Procedures & Execution of
Testing Plans including:
o Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT)
o Site Acceptance Testing (SAT)
o Site Integration Testing (SIT)
Field Verification of Systems Installations

• Other related tasks, as assigned.

Requirements & Desired Skills:

• 5-10 years as a Telecom Systems Engineer or Technical Designer. An Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Network Systems, or related technical field is preferred.
• Experience and/or training in several of the following systems:

o Radio towers & Communications Shelters
o Outside Plant (OSP) Communications Cabling, including OPGW.
o Inside Plant (ISP) Communications Cabling
o Satellite Communications
o LTE/5G
o Two-way Radio
o Public Address & General Alarm (PAGA)
o Voice over IP (VoIP)
o Master Clock
o Point-to-Point (PTP)/Point-to-Multipoint (PTMP) Radio
o Audio-Visual (A/V)
o Access Control (ACS)
o Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV)
o Asset Tracking
o Transport and access networks including SONET, DWDM, MPLS, FTTx, HFC, DOCSIS, etc.

• LAN/WAN/Wi-Fi
