Telecommunications CAD Designer

TEKsystems is seeking a Telecommunications CAD Designer for our Alaska based client
This will be a contract to hire engagement working on site in Anchorage, AK
About the Role:
We're looking for a talented Telecommunications CAD Designer in Anchorage, Alaska. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on exciting telecommunications projects and grow your career.
What You'll Do:
Project Work (85%):

• Design (60%) Team up with CAD specialists, designers, and engineers to create, modify, and update technical designs. Your work will include:
  • Engineering calculations
  • Test plans and reports
  • Construction Work Packages
  • Installation narratives/descriptions
  • Drawings (block diagrams, wiring diagrams, installation details)
  • Cabling/wiring schedules
  • Equipment lists/bills of materials
• Coordination (10%):Keep our engineering activities and project deliverables on track.
• Expert Advice (10%):Share your insights on project feasibility, scheduling, implementation steps, resourcing, and safety.
• On-site Surveys (5%):Conduct or facilitate on-site surveys, project construction activities, and acceptance testing.

Business Development & Internal Maintenance (10%):

• Business development and RFPs.
• Regular check-ins with executive leadership.
• Develop and review internal design standards, templates, checklists, and software assessments.

Your Day-to-Day:

• Based in Anchorage with occasional trips to facilities or field sites.
• Work with other departments and clients across multiple time zones.
• Specific duties defined per trip based on Work Pack process.

Training Requirements:

• Understand IMS, Work Pack Planning, and Execution Process Skills.

What We're Looking For:

• B.S. in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related field.
• 10 years of related work experience.
• 5 years directing technical design.
• Experience in design, field, and commissioning preferred.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Visio, or Navisworks preferred.
• Highly proficient in MS Word, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat (or similar PDF markup software).

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $40.00/hr.
