Job Description
This infrastructure role is a versatile position involving server administration, monitoring, and scripting/automation work. Ideal candidates have experience in management information systems or computer information systems rather than pure computer science.
The primary responsibilities include supporting the company's claims systems, including the claim center application, document generation, and data services. While cloud work is not extensive, experience with cloud platforms could be beneficial.
The team utilizes various monitoring tools such as SQL Sentry and AppDynamics, and knowledge of these tools is preferred but can be taught. On-call support and the ability to respond to issues outside normal business hours are required.
Collaboration with other IT groups, including database administrators and server administrators, is necessary to resolve issues. There is potential for the team to take on more DevOps responsibilities in the future.
Key Responsibilities
- Customer service heavy, responding to customer inquiries via Slack/Jira and monitoring systems
- Helpdesk duties, including discussing concerns with dev teams for upgrades
- Collaboration with database admins and participation in discussions about performance metrics and servers
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree
- Experience in management information systems or computer information systems
- Knowledge of SQL Sentry and AppDynamics is preferred but can be taught
