Remote Inpatient Coder

*Position*: Remote Inpatient Coder
*Work Model*: 6 Month Contract to Hire (Long term & Permanent Opportunity)
*Pay Rate*: $25-30.50/HR *This range depends on respective experience*
*Location (Please Read)*: Only available for following states: MD, PA, VA, WV, or Washington D.C.
*Requirements*:
* Must have 3 years of experience with *Inpatient Coding*
* Must have up to date CCS, RHIA, or RHIT certification/education.
* Must have experience working with EMR systems - *EPIC is preferred but not required*
* Certification as a Certified Professional Coder (CPC), Certified Inpatient Coder (CIC), or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS).
*Responsibilities*:
* Accurately code hospital inpatient accounts using *ICD-10-CM/PCS* coding systems.
* Analyzes inpatient cases, identifies, and assigns ICD-10 diagnostic and PCS procedural codes for the purpose of reimbursement, research, and compliance with federal and state regulations.
* Utilizes critical thinking to analyze and evaluate documentation issues with consultation from the medical and clinical staff, and clinical documentation specialists as needed.
* Evaluate documentation issues in consultation with medical and clinical staff.
* Utilize coding references, software tools, and electronic health records to ensure efficient coding practices.
