What are the responsibilities and job description for the Network Administrator position at TEKsystems?
*Description*
Our Engineering customer is looking for someone to add to there Newark DE location to provide support to an office of approximately 140 people consisting construction inspectors, land development, water resources etc. Most are in the field but about 2 dozen are in the office. There's also a component of supporting surrounding offices in Dover, Georgetown, Haines Point on occasion.
This person will be "the IT person" to support this location and others as outlined above. Because of that you are expected to handle helpdesk tickets, PC hardware issues (broken screen, missing keys), password resets to networking, DHCP, DNS, replace switch's, support Meraki wireless access points, Windows servers etc. This is a hybrid cloud environment, some things are on prem., some are in the cloud. This is a Microsoft shop.
*Duties as outlined:*
*Supporting multiple locations nationwide with additional IT staff. The ability to work in a fast-paced environment is a must. Detail-oriented, skilled at problem resolution and documentation. Exceptional customer service and communication skills are required. Supporting the day-to-day environment and longer-term projects.
*Provide timely and helpful customer service positively and professionally
*Log all Help Desk interactions in a timely manner
*Follow standard Help Desk procedures
*Answer Help Desk phone/email and resolve Tier 1/Tier 2 PC/Server/network issues.
*Comply with all KCI policies and procedures
*Respond to requests for technical assistance in person, via phone or electronically
*Diagnose and resolve technical hardware and software issues
*Research questions using available information resources
*Solve more advanced problems beyond the scope of basic Help Desk
*Advise employees on appropriate action
*Redirect problems to correct resource
*Identify and escalate situations requiring urgent attention
*Track and route problems and requests and document resolutions
*Educate and empower employees with IT training
*Stay current with system information, changes, and updates
*Perform routine network management of servers and networking equipment
*Management of Windows Environment supporting Desktop/Server hardware/software and accessories.
*Active Directory, Exchange, Teams User account administration.
*Active Directory implementation and management.
*Communication & Documentation of troubleshooting steps, installation procedures, and support agreements.
*Work with vendors to address service issues.
*5 years in a Windows Environment supporting hardware/software associated with PCs & Servers preferred. Ability to manage Windows Server, Active Directory, DHCP, DFS, and DNS. Management of switches and routers.
*Ability to work off hours to troubleshoot and perform upgrades or implementations as needed.
*The ability to lift 50 lbs. and be able to crawl under a desk or climb a ladder is a must.
*Overnight travel is required a few times a year with advanced notification. All travel expenses are paid for.

The pay range for this position is $44.00 - $50.00/hr.
