What are the responsibilities and job description for the Network Architect position at TEKsystems?
Description
The selected candidate will join a dynamic team of architects and engineers addressing a variety of network engineering projects, including Distributed Access Architectures (DAA), 10 Gig access road maps, standardization of access appliances and other network access technologies. Projects will include fiber, and HFC networks. Initial projects will be related to the development of technical requirements for DOCSIS 4.0 RPDs and vCMTSs, and working with vendors to develop DOCSIS 4.0 equipment for deployment in the Charter Network. There will also be opportunities to shape the definition of DOCSIS 5.0. The ideal candidate will have 5 years of technical experience with strong DOCSIS and Cable industry architectures. Experience in the development of industry standards is a plus. Exposure to Passive Optical Network (PON) technology is also a plus. The candidate must have an aptitude for architecting end-to-end Access Network systems. The individual will also manage vendors regarding products and service deliverables based on Charter business requirements and internal customer requests. The position requires a technical background and working knowledge of DOCSIS and Cable architectures. Additionally, it is desirable to have exposure to PON and mobile wireless architectures and multiple technologies including the following :
- IPv4, IPv6
- Access network devices (i.e. CMTSs, OLTs, 5G NR Base Stations, etc.) and Customer Premises Equipment (CPE) and home networking (i.e., cable modems, WiFi Routers / APs, ONU / ONTs, set top boxes, home routers, etc.)
- Device provisioning
- Access networks, including DOCSIS, Distributed Access Architectures (DAA), FTTx, EPON, 5G RAN
- Access Devices and / or network virtualization, SDN / NFV, NETConf, YANG

The pay range for this position is $70.00 - $80.00 / hr.
