Position Description
Tektonics Design Group in Richmond, VA is looking to add a CNC Machinist to our team. The CNC Machinist is responsible for setup, tooling, fixturing, and machining.
Core Responsibilities Include but not limited to:
- Operating CNC lathe, CNC mills to perform turning, boring, facing, counterboring, grooving, drilling, tapping and milling.
- Perform all setups on machine and recommend type of tooling needed to perform machining operations.
- The ability to interpret drawings and plan work in proper operational sequence.
- Live troubleshooting and problem solving related to individual parts.
- Assisting team members in other departments as needed. Ex. Laser engraving, Woodshop assistance, shipping and receiving.
Minimum Education and Experience
- Reading, writing, and some advance arithmetic skills are required.
- Experience using one or more of the following tools: lathe, milling machine, drill press, and automatic bandsaw.
- Familiarity with measurement and inspection tools.
- The ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Manual dexterity required for operating machinery and computers.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds is required.
- Good communication skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks
- Self-motivated
- Planning / Organizing skills
- 1-2 year minimum experience
Preferred Skills
· High School Diploma or GED
· CNC experience
· Forklift operation
· Must be a positive and supportive teammate
Required Skill
· 1-2 years of experience with CNC machines including Vertical Mill, Lathe, Screw Machine
