Job Description:
Summary:
- Repairs and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment such as engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines and equipment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Observes mechanical devices in operation and listens to their sounds to locate causes of trouble.
- Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts.
- Examines form and texture of parts to detect imperfections.
- Inspects used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements.
- Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments.
- Repairs or replaces defective parts
- Installs special functional and structural parts in devices.
- Lubricates and cleans parts.
- Starts devices to test their performance.
- Sets up and operates lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts
- Initiates purchase order for parts and machines.
- Repairs electrical equipment and 120 V electrical connections.
- Run and connect electrical wires for 120v and 480v.
- Trouble shoot and repair production and building equipment.
- Perform on going preventive maintenance
- Perform facility inspections, prepare and submit reports of conditions in the building and recommend actions to be taken.
- Support any building needs and activities as required.
- Update and maintain PM records.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school, and ten (10 ) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Certified 480 V 3 Phase to as low as 5 VDC
- Skilled in mechanical, electrical, plumbing, carpentry
- Ability to troubleshoot (diagnose and repair issues) with overall supervision
- Knowledge and experience in using power tools to perform repairs and maintenance tasks
- Clear communication with supervisors and others to report issues/udpates
- Efficient with prioritization of multiple maintenance tasks with deadlines
