Job Description
- The Assembly Team Operator is responsible for the operation of equipment, product segregation, quality inspection, disposition and documentation along with manual product assembly as required.
- Perform basic preventive maintenance, changeover and troubleshooting on equipment; ensure compliance with SOP’s and specifications; perform data collection and product dispositioning.
- Perform start up and ongoing equipment and product inspections as required per applicable documentation.
- Segregate and disposition product based on equipment and product inspections.
- Conduct shop floor data collection tasks.
- Perform manual assembly and product rework tasks as required.
- Initiate action to prevent the occurrence of nonconformances relating to product and processes.
- Write nonconformances and holds when required.
- Scan product into MRP system; perform testing using computer; create traceability labels.
- Initiate and recommend or provide solutions to quality or safety concerns through designated communication channels.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and business practices, including FDA regulations, GMP and ISO requirements.
- Assist with the training of new Operators.
- Perform other related duties as assigned or required.
Knowledge & Skills
- Good Verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge/use of computers.
- Adequate fine motor hand coordination required.
- Sound judgment for use in product disposition.
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Less than 1 year of experience; manufacturing background preferred.
- Work involves use of manufacturing equipment or close proximity to equipment.
- May be exposed to biohazards and/or chemicals.
- Work environment can range from clean room and proper gowning requirements to a production area that is open, potentially noisy and with moving equipment.
- Recurring physical demands include standing, walking, stooping, crouching, climbing, bilateral motion involving hands, wrists and upper body.
- Concentrated visual attention to perform checks on products and components.
- Typically requires travel less than 5% of the time.
