Job Title: Loan Adjustment Specialist
Job Summary:
In this role, you will work directly with our members to address payment issues and find creative solutions to help them manage their financial service’s needs. You will be responsible for making outbound calls, sending personal emails and letters, and utilizing other communication methods to resolve payment problems and improve our members' credit strength. The ideal candidate will focus on building long-term relationships with members by offering tailored solutions through our credit union’s products, services, and pricing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Make outbound calls and initiate personalized email or letter communications with members to resolve payment issues and improve credit standings.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with members by identifying financial challenges and providing suitable solutions using our credit union's products and services.
- Assist members in resolving complex issues, including collections, loan charge-offs, repossession, bankruptcy, insurance claims, and related financial topics.
- Provide support on basic member services, such as answering questions, addressing concerns, and providing guidance on products and services as needed.
- Work to understand the full range of credit union products, services, and pricing, and utilize this knowledge to suggest tailored solutions for members.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure issues are resolved promptly and efficiently.
- Perform additional collection tasks as required, including working with DMV, CPI, and other relevant departments to ensure proper resolution of payment issues.
- Adhere to all legal and regulatory requirements for collections and member interactions.
- Maintain accurate records of all member interactions, payment arrangements, and resolutions in our database.
Required Qualifications:
- Proven experience in collections, customer service, or sales, with a successful track record in resolving payment issues and improving customer relationships.
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work effectively with members from diverse backgrounds.
- Ability to handle sensitive financial information with professionalism and confidentiality.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think creatively when helping members find financial solutions.
- A positive attitude and passion for working with the public, providing excellent customer service.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with repossession, bankruptcy, insurance claims, CPI, DMV processes, and loan/share charge-offs.
- Prior experience working in a credit union or financial services environment.
- Basic understanding of financial regulations related to collections and payment processing.
The position is primarily based in Longview and may occasionally work in other locations. Reliable transportation is required. Must be reliable and flexible to work varied shifts as scheduled including after normal work hours and on Saturday.
Completely bilingual/bicultural (English/Spanish) will be considered favorably.
Needs to enjoy working with the public. Evidence of successful collections and sales experience and skills is required. Basic computer skills and experience with Microsoft Word and Excel are required. Customer service experience is preferred.
Mon - Fri mainly; occasional weekend hours as benefits the function.

Pay: $14.00 - $18.00 per hour
