Summary

Job Description

Provides administrative and clerical support specifically related to purchasing department activities, managers or staff.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following, but not limited to:

• May assist buyers in contacting vendors to obtain prices and schedule delivery dates.
• May develop and maintain resources for assigned commodity items.
• May prepare standard requests for quotation.
• Respond to customer and supplier inquiries about order status, changes, or cancellations.
• Contact suppliers in order to schedule or expedite deliveries and to resolve shortages, missed or late deliveries, and other problems.
• Review requisition orders in order to verify accuracy, terminology, and specifications.
• Prepare, maintain, and review purchasing files, reports and price lists.
• Track the status of requisitions, contracts, and orders.
• May calculate costs of orders, and charge or forward invoices to appropriate accounts.
  
  

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED equivalent.
• 0-6 years of experience in a similar position preferred.
• One year certificate from college or technical school preferred and/or equivalent related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to multi-task.

Salary Range

$33,800.00-$45,100.000
