Job description
TeleSolv is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Accounting Coordinator to join our Finance/Accounting Department. This hybrid role is instrumental in coordinating between TeleSolv personnel and an outsourced/3rd party accounting firm to ensure seamless financial operations. While the Accounting Coordinator will not serve as the primary individual responsible for accounting tasks, they will act as the liaison, facilitating communication and ensuring accuracy and timeliness in financial processes. This position requires strong organizational skills, financial acumen, and the ability to effectively collaborate with internal teams and external partners.
Core Responsibilities:
- Act as the primary liaison between TeleSolv’s department managers and the outsourced/3rd party accounting firm to ensure accurate financial reporting and efficient workflows.
- Coordinate day-to-day finance activities, including overseeing processes related to the general ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, and departmental mail. Generating invoices and coordinating payments is a key AR activity - this task requires previous experience. Reviewing and submitting vendor invoices for approval and verifying the accuracy of information on weekly aging reports are key AP activities - this task requires previous experience. Reviewing expense reports and timesheets for accuracy is a key payroll activity - this requires experience.
- Facilitate the timely and accurate processing of invoices and supplemental reports for FFP, T&M, and CPFF contracts by collaborating with the outsourced accounting firm.
- Assist in maintaining accounts payable and receivable aging reports, and ensure reconciliation of Company credit cards, bills, and cash disbursements.
- Coordinate tax filings by providing necessary schedules and documentation to the accounting firm and ensuring compliance with all regulations.
- Support payroll activities by serving as the intermediary between TeleSolv personnel and the outsourced firm to resolve discrepancies or address concerns.
- Collaborate with project and department managers to gather and verify data for purchase orders, expense reports, and invoice approvals.
- Provide support for internal financial activities, such as preparing budgetary documentation, tracking variances, and maintaining detailed reconciliations of balance sheet accounts.
- Assist with month-end close processes, annual budget preparation, and variance reporting by ensuring timely data submission and review by the outsourced firm.
- Monitor and maintain detailed records of vendor files, company insurance, 401(k) systems, and prepaid and depreciable assets.
- Facilitate communication between TeleSolv management and the outsourced firm regarding technical accounting and reporting requirements, including federal financial policies and GAAP standards.
- Prepare and coordinate federal financial reports, schedules, and reconciliations, ensuring compliance and accuracy.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will meet the following criteria:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred but not required.
- Experience: Previous experience in an accounting or financial coordination role is highly desirable. Familiarity with general ledger systems, financial reporting, and reconciliation processes is required. Federal contract accounting experience is REQUIRED. Experience with AR, AP, and Payroll is required.
Skills:
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to manage relationships with internal stakeholders and external accounting partners.
- Proficiency Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Experience with a DCAA approved accounting system within a Federal contract environment is required.
- Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Soft Skills: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
