We are seeking Full-Charge Bookkeeper - an experienced, highly skilled bookkeeper with expertise in all areas of bookkeeping, payroll, and WA state excise taxes. This position will require a high level of client interface.
This position is part-time (24-36 hours per week) and could require full-time hours and/or overtime, seasonally.
Qualifications and Responsibilities:
- Proficiency in QuickBooks (desktop and online), Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and Adobe Acrobat
- 5 years of recent experience in bookkeeping with a variety of business entity types and industries. Bookkeeping experience should include expertise in Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, data entry and account reconciliations.
- Proficiency in payroll preparation, including quarterly and annual Federal tax filings and WA state payroll reports – experience with prevailing wage is a plus
- Expertise in filing Washington State Excise Tax Returns
- Experience and comfort in aiding clients in designing efficient and accurate bookkeeping systems to meet the goals of the business
- Ability to troubleshoot and reorganize client books, when needed
- A high comfort level of communicating with clients in a competent, concise, timely, and personalized manner
- Strong interpersonal skills, including working effectively in a team environment
- Ability to multi-task and manage deadlines and details of a large client base
- Exhibits meticulous attention to detail and a strong bias for follow-through
- Is enthusiastic about working one-on-one with clients
- Ability to register as a Paid Preparer with the IRS
Capabilities and experience in the following areas are a plus:
- Course work in accounting or certification in bookkeeping
· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business
· Previous experience working for a bookkeeping or CPA firm
Compensation:
Compensation range: $30-$35/hour, compensation offer will be based on skills and qualifications.
