Senior Design Engineer (Electrical/Hardware) - 6 Month Contract to Hire.
Calling all detail-oriented Design Engineers with AutoCAD expertise! Our client, a leader in telecommunications and Transit infrastructure, seeks a Senior Design Engineer for a 6-month contract to hire opportunity. You'll design complex hardware, tackle site challenges, and collaborate with a dynamic team in an office environment.
About the Role (In-Office with 25% Travel- Site walks):
- Innovation Architect: Translate customer needs into cutting-edge hardware solutions using AutoCAD. (MicroStation or Solid works a major plus)
- Site Savvy Engineer: Analyze site surveys to optimize equipment placement and design flawless installations (involves some travel to project sites).
- Collaboration Champion: Build strong relationships with transit authority engineers, manage subcontractors, and collaborate seamlessly with internal and external stakeholders when design adjustments arise.
- Product Design Powerhouse: Develop new products, including mechanical, electrical, and cable systems. You'll specify equipment and materials, ensuring efficient procurement and dual-sourcing strategies.
- Project Management Pro: Oversee design subcontractors across projects, guaranteeing high-quality deliverables for transit authority approvals.
- Proposal and Documentation Master: Craft bills of materials, cost estimates, and technical descriptions for proposals and supplier contracts. Analyze customer RFPs and formulate winning responses.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related field.
You'll Be A Great Fit If You Have:
- 5 years of experience as a Senior Design Engineer (Electrical/Hardware).
- AutoCAD mastery and a passion for innovative design.
- Experience with Transit projects (a major plus!).
- SolidWorks or MicroStation knowledge is a big advantage.
- The ability to collaborate effectively, solve problems, and handle some travel.
Salary : $50 - $65
