CNC Programmer Job Description
Overview
We are seeking a skilled CNC Programmer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of CNC machining processes and be proficient in programming CNC milling/turning machines. This role requires attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to read and interpret blueprints. As a CNC Programmer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring precision and quality in our manufacturing operations.
Duties
- Develop and optimize CNC programs for milling/turning machines based on engineering specifications.
- Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to determine machining requirements.
- Utilize GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) principles to ensure accuracy in part production.
- Operate CNC machinery, including setting up tools and fixtures for machining processes.
- Perform quality checks using calipers and coordinate measuring machines to ensure parts meet specifications.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to troubleshoot issues and improve processes.
- Maintain documentation of programs, setups, and changes made during the manufacturing process.
- Fabricate parts as required, ensuring adherence to safety standards and best practices.
Requirements
- Proficient in math skills relevant to CNC programming and machining.
- Strong knowledge of GD&T principles.
- Experience with blueprint reading and interpretation.
- Familiarity with milling machines and their operation.
- Mechanical knowledge with an understanding of machining processes.
- Proficient in AutoCAD for creating or modifying technical drawings.
- Ability to use precision measuring instruments such as calipers effectively.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the capability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Proficient in the latest version of Mastercam.
