Job Description Summary:
The Controller is responsible for overseeing all financial and accounting functions. This role involves leading a skilled team that handles Accounts Payable/Receivable, Bank Reconciliations, General Ledger entries, and Human Resources tasks. Training will be provided for our specific systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee the daily operations of the accounting department.
Manage daily bank deposits, monthly reconciliations, and wire transfers.
Complete payroll processing and related reporting.
Prepare monthly financial statements following GAAP standards.
Manage accounts payable and receivable.
Oversee general ledger operations.
Handle treasury and bank management.
Supervise sales tax filings and reporting.
Manage insurance, including employee benefits enrollment.
Handle cash management and forecasting.
Review purchasing activities and inventory control.
Conduct revenue and expenditure variance analysis.
Reconcile capital assets and manage fixed assets.
Track debt activities.
Provide HR support including onboarding and benefits administration.
Supervise and mentor accounting and administrative staff.
Monitor accounting data and generate financial reports.
Establish and maintain accounting methods, policies, and principles.
Coordinate annual audits.
Improve systems and procedures, implementing corrective actions.
Assign projects and ensure staff compliance and accuracy.
Achieve financial accounting goals.
Maintain fiscal records and document transactions.
Handle government reporting, such as census and EEO data.
Report to the Marina General Manager/Vice President.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
At least 5 years of relevant accounting experience, including 3 years in a managerial role.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles, GAAP, and relevant regulations.
Experience preparing and analyzing financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports.
High attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to meet financial deadlines.
Proficient in financial analysis and modeling.
Strong multitasking skills in a fast-paced, results-driven environment.
Advanced computer skills in MS Office, accounting software, and databases.
Experience with CDK Lightspeed POS software is a plus.
CPA certification is highly preferred.
QuickBooks experience is desirable.
Job Details:
Full-time position.
Pay range: $95,000 - $105,000 annually.
Benefits: 401(k), 401(k) matching, dental, health, and vision insurance, paid time off.
Schedule: Monday to Friday.
Supplemental Pay: Yearly bonus.
Experience Requirements:
GAAP experience: 8 years (Required).
CPA Certification (Preferred).
