The Credit and Collections Administrator manages credit risk and receivables for an assigned area, aiming to maximize profits and support the sales department in achieving their goals. Responsibilities include receivable collection, credit investigation, and account establishment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage accounts to maintain low delinquency levels and collect past due accounts.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and internal business partners.
- Develop and review reports on outstanding receivables.
- Establish and adjust credit limits and approve or decline credit requests.
- Conduct credit analysis for new and existing customers.
- Secure transactions with lines and file UCCs as needed.
- Utilize Collection Management System (CMS) for account activity.
- Assist with account reconciliation and resolutions for misapplied cash.
- Prepare bad debt write-off requests and other necessary documentation.
Qualifications:
- Accounting and Credit/Collections experience.
- College Degree in Finance/Accounting or minimum three years in Credit and Collections.
- Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to multi-task and manage relationships effectively.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Knowledge of credit reporting agencies, financial statements, and relevant laws.
Skills:
- Problem-solving and self-management.
- Quick learner with a positive attitude.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding and perform basic math operations.
