We are hiring a Probate Paralegal with 1-5 years of experience for an established Elder Law firm in the Martin County Area. The ideal candidate will have litigation experience in Estate planning, Probate & Trust administration, Guardianship.
Responsibilities:
- General office administration to support the attorney.
- Prepare and process estate planning case files from initial client outreach to completion with attorney supervision.
- Prepare and process guardianship pleadings from start to (eventual) conclusion with attorney supervision.
- File documents with the appropriate court, meet deadlines and set hearing times, depositions etc.
- Answer telephones, take appropriate messages and interact with clients in a pleasant, professional manner.
- Respond to clients and provide information to clients under the instruction of an attorney.
- Log and distribute incoming mail including regular and electronic mail.
- Calendar deadlines as appropriate.
- Set up, organize and maintain paper and electronic filing systems in accordance with recognized procedures and standards.
- Coordinate client meetings and confirmation of scheduled appointments.
- Prepare files and obtain all necessary documents for incoming Estate Planning and Guardianship files.
- Draft ancillary estate planning documents to include Warranty Deeds and Certificates of Trust under the instruction of an attorney.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Be a team player supporting other staff members’ workloads.
- Must be at or near completion of a paralegal degree.
- Part Time Considered - Full Time Preferred.
- Ability to learn estate planning software and guardianship software and law from start to finish with oversight from an attorney.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat.
- Professional appearance, communication skills and demeanor required.
- The ideal applicant must possess the ability to work independently and complete assigned work in a timely manner.
