Position Summary
The Assistant Controller primarily supports the Controller by overseeing various accounting functions, including preparing financial statements, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, assisting with budget processes, analyzing financial data, and contributing to the accuracy and reliability of the company's financial reporting.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
· Support the Controller and the accounting function.
· Assist with the development of internal controls to comply with best practices.
· Assist in the preparation and consolidation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
· Assist in the budget preparation, including developing financial forecasts and analyzing variances.
· Assist in the analysis of financial data to identify trends, variances, and potential risks, providing insights to management.
· Ensure adherence to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and relevant accounting standards.
· Though the position currently does not have direct reports, you may supervise a team of accounting staff, assigning tasks and reviewing work in the future.
· Act as backup for the payroll function (COINS).
· Other duties may be required to meet company objectives.
Qualifications and Skills:
- BA in Accounting
- CPA is a plus
- Strong understanding of GAAP and practices
- Proficiency in accounting software and financial analysis tools
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Attention to detail and ability to work independently
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with various departments
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
Additional Requirements:
· Ability to stand, squat, bend, stoop, and comfortably lift up to 25 lbs.
- Ability to pass full background screening and drug screening
- Ability to pass MVR check
- Ability to travel, as needed, for projects or training
