Position Summary
The payroll specialist handles employee payroll and accounting, including processing paychecks, maintaining records, and ensuring compliance with regulations.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
· Process payroll transactions, including salaries, taxes, benefits, and garnishments
· Prepare and maintain employee records, including names, addresses, and tax forms
· Calculate and distribute paychecks via HRIS/Payroll system
· Process employees’ leave balances
· Respond to payroll inquiries from management
· Generate reports
· Ensure compliance with payroll laws and regulations
· Identify and recommend payroll system improvements
· Perform payroll reconciliations
· Other duties may be required to meet company objectives.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Experience in payroll processing or accounting
- Strong attention to detail
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in MS Office
- Knowledge of HRIS/Payroll systems
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Additional Requirements:
· Ability to stand, squat, bend, stoop and comfortably lift up to 25 lbs.
- Ability to pass full background screening and drug screening
- Ability to pass MVR check
- Ability to travel, as needed, for projects or training
- Hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm with an hour lunch.
