Scope of Position:
Ensure proper product knowledge is provided to territory managers and customers to effectively support and grow sales. Manage product training initiatives, ensuring internal staff and customers are educated on new supply items. Assist in product selection, training programs, and knowledge sharing to enhance customer experience and satisfaction. Support sales staff as a resource for product-related inquiries and serve as a liaison between vendors and internal teams.
Basic Function:
Ensure sales teams and customers have the necessary product knowledge and resources to effectively utilize and sell company products. Develop and maintain training materials, provide direct customer and internal support, and monitor industry trends to recommend new supply items that align with customer needs and market demands. Maintain accurate records and product databases within the scope of responsibilities.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage product training initiatives company wide;
- Educate company-wide territory managers and sales staff on product lines and supply items;
- Assist internal and external customers in understanding and selecting appropriate products;
- Research and recommend new products, ensuring alignment with customer needs and company objectives;
- Evaluate and refine existing product offerings based on industry trends and customer feedback;
- Provide solutions to customer inquiries, including research and recommendations.
- Troubleshoot product-related issues and provide resolutions;
- Organize and maintain product training materials and reference databases;
- Develop and coordinate product training sessions for internal staff and customers;
- Create product order forms and training guides to assist customers in maintaining optimal supply levels;
- Work with Purchasing to assess demand and set appropriate inventory levels;
- Resolve customer concerns related to product knowledge and training;
- Maintain a working knowledge of all product lines stocked and sold by the company;
- Proactively promote product awareness and additional sales opportunities to customers;
- Maintain training and product display areas, ensuring accessibility and clarity for staff and customers;
- Participate in after-hours support on a rotating schedule;
- Promote and maintain a flexible, cooperative, positive, and team-oriented attitude between departments and end users;
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements/Skills:
- High School diploma and 3-4 years experience in HVAC preferably in a customer service environment.
- Excellent communication, organization, customer service, problem solving and follow-through skills.
- Proficient clerical skill in typing, basic math computation, data entry, PC and related software application.
- Able to work in a fast paced, varied/changing priority and stressful environment.
