What are the responsibilities and job description for the Part time Office Administrative Assistant position at Temple Chayai Shalom?
Temple Chayai Shalom is a reformed synagogue, located in Easton, Massachusetts. The role of the Office Administrative Assistant at Temple Chayai Shalom is to work with the President, the Marketing Assistant, and the Rabbi to maintain the weekly administrative functions of the organization.
The Office Administrative Assistant will answer the phone as needed, help enroll new members, and update and maintain the temple’s database system. This role will also order supplies, prepare and update annual membership lists, prepare and mail correspondence, and inform leadership of any building concerns.
The Office Administrative Assistant will also support the Marketing Assistant, as needed, in preparing the weekly newsletter, the bi-monthly newsletter, and weekend Shabbat information, including Yahrzeits and announcements. This role will also assist the Rabbi, and other staff/volunteers, to design and print programs and materials for services and holidays.
Qualifications:
—Basic knowledge of Jewish holidays and customs.
—Experience working with databases is preferred.
—Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Adobe Reader is required.
—Knowledge of Canva and MailChimp is a plus.
