What are the responsibilities and job description for the BILLING SPECIALIST - Temple Physicians Inc, Jenkintown, PA position at Temple Health – Temple University Health System?
Responsible for complex and varied billing duties requiring proficiency, initiative and extensive knowledge of system policies and billing procedures. Handles problems of a sensitive nature, (e.g., medical/legal, patient registration and audit functions, supporting daily clerical operations and assisting in the evaluation of operations, and the implementation of system modifications.) Handles and process refunds, credit balances and other refund related correspondence in compliance with departmental policies and procedures. Must have an extensive knowledge of policies and procedures of the third party payers, commercial insurers and managed care plans. This position is also responsible for ensuring compliance to all third party payers, TPI and TUHS billing and collections policies and procedures, while still maintaining operational efficiencies and maximizing
revenue.
Education
High School Diploma or Equivalent (Required)
Combination of relevant education and experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
Experience
3 Years experience in related medical billing and collections, preferably on an automated system. (Required)
