ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Abide by all Oil States Energy Services LLC. Safety and Operational Policy and Procedures.
- Receive tools and log the rental information.
- Disassemble the tools using a hydraulic torque bench.
- Clean tools in a parts cleaner and with wire brush,
- Inspect disassembled components using precision measurement tools and log data.
- Rebuild tools according to specifications.
- Prepare shipping documents and log data.
- Inspect incoming new parts.
- This position is designated as a safety sensitive position.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
SPECIALIZED DUTIES:
Tool Technician I
- Case redress.
- Break out tools.
- Break down tools and disassemble.
- Cleaning parts in solvent tank.
- Break down and disassemble Poppet assembly.
- Washing Poppet assembly in ultrasonic washer.
- Assemble tools.
- Torque tools.
- Function testing.
- Painting tools.
- Packing cartridges in cases (poppet assemblies) in sleeves and labeling accordingly.
Tool Technician II
- Case redress.
- Break out tools.
- Break down tools and disassemble.
- Cleaning parts in solvent tank.
- Break down and disassemble Poppet assembly.
- Washing Poppet assembly in ultrasonic washer.
- Assemble tools.
- Torque tools.
- Function testing.
- Painting tools.
- Packing cartridges in cases (poppet assemblies) in sleeves and labeling accordingly.
- Polishing parts using a lathe.
- May train and mentor other Shop Technician I or II.
- Exhibit competency in redress and inspection in all product lines.
- Ability to exhibit leadership and management potential to manage a shift as Shift Lead.
Tool Technician III
- Case redress.
- Break out tools.
- Break down tools and disassemble.
- Cleaning parts in solvent tank.
- Break down and disassemble Poppet assembly.
- Washing Poppet assembly in ultrasonic washer.
- Assemble tools.
- Torque tools.
- Function testing.
- Painting tools.
- Packing cartridges in cases (poppet assemblies) in sleeves and labeling accordingly.
- May train and mentor other Shop Technician I, II or III.
- Exhibit competency in redress and inspection in all product lines.
- Ability to exhibit leadership and management potential to manage a shift as a Shift Lead.
- Maintain facility and test equipment.
- Work with supervisors and other technicians to maintain smooth workflow and a neat and safe environment.
- Ability to effectively communicate with management and office administration on key shop related issues affecting Company operations.
- Evaluate Tool Technicians I, II, or III for competency in all product lines, including HydroPull, Motor Gas Separator, Water Bypass Sub, Jet Rotor, and train as necessary to achieve competency.
- May perform re-work of specialized components on the mill and lathe.
- May create shipping documents and schedule shipments for outgoing and incoming tools for our market partners.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Hands-on experience with basic dimensional equipment preferred.
- General working knowledge of hand, power, and pneumatic tools to safely handle heavy tooling and parts preferred.
- Basic knowledge of equipment and facilities maintenance procedures preferred.
- Basic problem-solving skills.
- Basic math skills.
- Basic computer and documentation skills preferred.
- Must be able to work overtime, weekends, holidays or on call as needed.
- Must be able to work well individually, in teams and or in groups.
- Must be able to rapidly adapt to changes and demands based upon workflow.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be able to frequently lift and move materials up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Anything over 75 pounds but less than 150 pounds will require either a lifting device or two employees. Anything over 150 pounds will require a lifting device, per HSE guidelines.
- Ability to lift a 50 lb. weight object from various levels.
- Ability to exert 100 lbs. of vertical pull force from overhead to waist level.
- Ability to lift and move a 50 lb. dumbbell utilizing various motions and positions.
- Must be physically capable of working in awkward positions for prolonged periods.
- Accident hazard can involve severe cuts and bruises.
- Exposure to shop contaminates such as oils, chemical cleaners, and paint dust.
- Extensive bending, lifting, climbing, sitting, pushing, pulling, and standing for long periods of time.
- Exposure to loud noise including both high and low decibels, vibration & bright lights.
