Ten Lives Club is a non-profit cat shelter in Western New York with 17 additional adoption locations. Our organization is dedicated to reducing the number of cats euthanized each year due to overpopulation and lack of space in shelters. Since our creation in 2001, we have saved the lives of or assisted with over 45,000 cats through rescue and our adoption program. Our location cares for strays, surrenders and adoptions.
Job Description:
It is the responsibility of this position to ensure the grounds are kept and everything inside and outside are in proper working condition and looks good. Performs routine maintenance and repair work to include but not limited to plastering and painting, maintenance of shelter equipment and the shelter itself. Plumbing & Electrical requirements when necessary. Performs restorative and carpentry requirements when necessary. Operating a forklift and unloading of deliveries. Responds to requests for emergency 24/7 repairs. Coordinates work with the needs of the shelter. Maintains the exterior grounds. Other related duties as assigned. Must be certified to operate forklift.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Perform assigned duties concerned with plumbing, electrical, painting, carpentry.
- Perform duties concerned with maintenance of grounds, parking lots, and driveways.
- Operates power equipment hand tools; maintain equipment and shop in good condition
- Plans work, estimates materials and supplies needed for relate jobs.
- Handle incoming and outgoing freight, as needed; lift and move heavy deliveries and equipment.
- Perform light carpentry, painting, and other general maintenance inside shelter and on the property.
- Desire to learn about building repair/renovation.
- Maintenance of the interior and exterior of the property to always provide clean and acceptable curb appeal.
- Daily maintenance of grounds, and building exteriors to keep them clean, free of trash, debris, and other safety issues to ensure excellent curb appeal and safety of staff and the public.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs unassisted, walk a flight of stairs while carrying tools, and operate and repair light equipment.
- Maintain an organized, clean, and safe work area.
- Handle pickups and drop offs
- On call for shelter emergencies 24/7
- Perform any other duties as assigned by shelter management in a timely manner.
- Additional duties as assigned.
- A valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation (preferably a truck).
- Must be forklift certified.
This Position Reports to:
Director of Operations
Pay Range:
· $18 per hour (commensurate with experience)
· Part-time
· Schedule is Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday 8am – 3pm
Days off: Wednesday, & Sunday.
(Time & day may vary depending on needs)

Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour
