About this role: As a Facilities Supervisor you will be using your skills and expertise to ensure the effective functioning of a facility that provides an efficient and safe working environment for employees and their activities by using best business practices to manage resources, services, and processes to meet the needs of the company.
We are looking for a Facilities Supervisor that will support the following programs:
- INCUS: NASA has selected Tendeg to deliver four Ka-band deployable antennas for a new Earth science mission called Investigation of Convective Updrafts (INCUS) that will study the behavior of tropical storms and thunderstorms, including their impacts on weather and climate models. https://www.jpl.nasa.gov/news/nasa-selects-new-mission- to-study-storms-impacts-on-climate-models
- 2-axis Gimbal Antennas: Tendeg has multiple contracts to develop, fabricate, test and deliver flight units for deployable high gain antennas from X-band to Q/V-band. These are for sensor and communication missions for LEO, MEO and lunar applications.
- Perimeter Truss Reflectors: Tendeg has multiple contracts to deliver large aperture antennas for GEO communications, SAR, and national security
What you'll do:
- Lead facilities support for employees and contractors to deliver operations services in a timely and cost-effective manner. Coordinate response to emergency situations that may impact operations; Preparing facilities for changing weather conditions. Provide prompt response to requests and issues from facility occupants
- Demonstrates significant expertise and experience with the upkeep and function of buildings, building systems (electrical, mechanical, plumbing), machinery, landscape, and quality improvement projects.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety standards and industry codes; serves on Tendegs Health and Safety Committee.
- Interfaces and coordinates with contractors and external teams for expansion projects; allocate and manage facility space for maximum efficiency; coordinate intra-office moves.
- Schedule and supervise maintenance and repair of facilities and equipment; oversees facility refurbishment and renovations; implement best practice processes to increase efficiency.
- Help plan and manage facility central services such as reception, security, cleaning, catering, waste disposal and parking.
- Manage contractor and vendor relationships; manage and review service contracts to ensure facility management needs are being met; ensure delivery schedules, quantity and quality criteria are met; check completed work by contractors and vendors; verify payment and invoicing match contract pricing; coordinate and monitor activities of contract suppliers; calculate and compare costs for goods and services to maximize cost-effectiveness
- Prepare and track facility budget; monitor expenses and payments; generate and present regular reports and reviews of facility-related budgets, finances, contracts, expenditures, and purchases; develop and implement cost reduction initiatives; collaborates with building owners and upper management on budgeting for facilities needs
- Advise on and monitor energy efficiency
- Respond to facility and equipment alarms and system failures
- Review of all proposals, and change order requests from the service providers, contractors, suppliers, etc. Consistent collaboration with Development and leadership teams to provide a continuous feedback loop to improve building functionality and material selection.
- Monitoring the safety and cleanliness of interior and exterior areas, such as offices, conference rooms, parking lots and outdoor recreation spaces
- Ensuring proper security measures for the workplace, including collaborating with security system vendors or a team of security professionals
- Maintaining day-to-day operations of facilities, such as delegating or completing maintenance orders
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Key Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's Engineering degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Construction Management preferred.
- 5 years of construction/facilities management experience with a demonstrated focus in delivering and/or maintaining multiple commercial facilities, ideally in a manufacturing environment.
- Prior experience implementing and managing a maintenance ticketing systems highly preferred.
- Proven ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to create comprehensive Preventative Maintenance plans and tools to monitor them closely.
- Expertise in the planning, scheduling, budgeting, resourcing, and executing of all technical services required to maintain and improve buildings. This includes mechanical, electrical, plumbing, controls, fire-alarm, janitorial, landscaping, flooring,
- Ability to balance the trade-offs between operational risk and investment, constantly seeking the highest quality and design at the best value.
- Proven communication and supervisory skills, including experience working with various levels of an organization and ability to manage customer service issues involving employees in a professional and positive manner.
- Ability to diagnose, manage and resolve maintenance issues quickly and efficiently, including experience prioritizing and assigning repairs.
- Experience building and maintaining relationships with facility operation teams, utility companies, government agencies, architectural & design firms, and general contracting firms.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to speak with all levels of employees, guests, vendors and team members
