Boarding Manager – Tender Care Animal Hospital
Summary: Our Boarding Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of our boarding facility, ensuring our animals are cared for properly. The Boarding Manager is also responsible for managing all Kennel Staff. This is a Part Time position requiring afternoon, evening, weekend and some holiday availability.
Job Responsibilities:
- Oversees kennel operations that house dogs and cats
- Hiring, training and supervising other kennel attendants with the assistance of the Hospital Manager
- Follow proper cleaning protocols and communicate them with other kennel attendants in the case of a disease outbreak
- Maintaining animal records, such as physical condition, treatments received, medications given and food intake
- Daily care for boarding animals
- Assist in bringing boarding pets back when checked in and up to owner when going home
- Must be able to lift 50lbs or more, stoop, bend and stand on feet for long periods of time
- Bathing, exercising, feeding, administering medication and monitoring behavior
- Assist with kennel maintenance and cleaning, including yards used by boarding dogs
- Washing, drying and folding laundry, washing pet bowls, cleaning litterboxes
- Maintain clean and organized facility, including where belongings are stored
- Schedule shifts for all kennel attendants
- Handle text and phone call questions from kennel attendants, including helping them cover shifts
- Work with Hospital Manager to understand financial health of the boarding facility
- Other duties as assigned by the Doctors and/or Hospital Manager
Skills/Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or relevant education and working experience
- Previous experience with animals required
- Prior supervisory experience preferred
