What are the responsibilities and job description for the Food Service Assistant position at Tender Heart Senior Living?
The Food Service Assistant is a key member of our operational team who is tasked with ensuring fresh, delicious meals for our Assisted Living & Memory Care Home Residents. The Food Service Assistant will follow the menus, recipes, and instructions provided by the Food Service Coordinator to prepare daily breakfast, lunch, and dinner meals to be served fresh and in accordance with proper food preparation standards. This Team Member will work closely with the respective home Team Leader and Food Service Coordinator to maintain familiarity and plan for various resident dietary needs, preferences, and restrictions. Additional duties will include working collaboratively with the FSC to minimize food waste, maintain clean and sanitary food prep and storage areas, and communicating additional maintenance needs according to procedure.
The Food Service Assistant will be working in our central, open kitchen. This person will need to be consistent in working with a pleasant attitude and smile as they will be visible to all residents, guests, and visitors to the home throughout the day. They will be expected to participate with the rest of the team in greeting house visitors as they come in as well as being an extra set of eyes on the common areas to notify Care Team of any immediate resident needs or safety concerns observed. Distractions are likely, so this individual will need to be practiced in time management, forward thinking, and maintaining a Service Mindset.
