Job Description
Tenneco is a leading designer, manufacturer and marketer of automotive products. As an Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with applicable codes, regulations and best practices.
Main Responsibilities:
- Maintain a healthy, safe and accident-free work environment.
- Monitor the work environment to identify and communicate potential environmental, health or safety concerns.
- Oversee the administration of federal, state and local environmental regulatory requirements.
- Formulate general EHS policies and procedures to be followed by company personnel.
- Inspect facilities to detect existing or potential hazards and recommend corrective measures.
EH&S Risk Assessments:
You will be responsible for conducting EH&S risk assessments for all processes, equipment and identifying controls to mitigate impacts on employees and the community.
Training and Development:
- Develop and implement training programs for new hires and existing employees.
- Facilitate safety teams, toolbox meetings and refresher training sessions.
Safety Incident Reporting:
You will be responsible for recording and reporting safety incidents, including annual lockout performance audits and confined space entry procedures.
Compliance and Audits:
- Maintain compliance with monitoring and measurement requirements.
- Participate in external audits and internal audits.
- Complete corrective actions from audit findings.
Requirements:
We are looking for a highly motivated individual with 1-2 years of experience in EHS or a related field. You should have excellent communication and analytical skills, as well as the ability to read and interpret engineering blueprints and specifications.
