Job Description:
The Human Resource Manager role at Tenneco involves overseeing the full scope of human resources responsibilities, partnering with the organization on strategic initiatives, and maintaining and enhancing the company's human resources by planning, implementing, and evaluating policies, programs, and practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Represent the Company in Union grievances, arbitrations, and negotiations. Work with Value Stream Managers and Plant Supervisors to administer the union contract and other labor relation policies consistent with Corporate Policies.
- Recruit, screen, and recommend personnel as required to meet the immediate personnel requirements of the plant and assist management personnel in planning organizational development for long-term needs.
- Maintain current evaluations of salaried positions in the Van Wert Plant, direct the review and adjustment of salaries within the established compensation system, and recommend timely revisions of salary ranges.
- Develop, interpret, and disseminate information regarding plant and company personnel policies, maintaining a consistent application of them to maintain community and employee relations.
- Maintain liaison with the Manager of Employee Relations for the Sealing Products Group.
- Supervise the administration of existing employee fringe benefit programs and make recommendations for suitable changes and additions.
- Serve as process owner of the Quality Management System core process "Labor Resources".
- Assist EHS Coordinator in developing and implementing safety policies and programs within Corporate guidelines to assure a safe working environment.
- Manage a department by developing and maintaining budgets, setting goals and objectives, determining actions within policies required to meet goals, determining personnel needs, and taking action to meet those needs.
- Direct and support plantwide training needs for all plant personnel.
- Position has the responsibility and authority for quality commensurate with the accountabilities of the job description.
