Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform welding that fuses similar or different metals, ensuring high structural strength while minimizing distortion using proper MIG welding techniques.
- Read and interpret blueprints to verify job specifications, ensuring the correct components are welded as per design.
- Conduct a thorough inspection of the first completed piece, document findings on the job card, and record hourly quality checks.
- Report production amounts to the supervisor at the end of each shift.
- Properly tag containers to identify products and maintain accurate records.
- Utilize hand tools, fixtures, jigs, and clamps to complete welding tasks efficiently.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment, following all company safety guidelines and industry best practices.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Troubleshoot welding equipment and perform basic maintenance as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Must achieve minimum performance goals within the designated time frame or will be disqualified from the position.
- Must obtain welder certification within the first 60 days of employment.
- Must be able to work flexible hours, including overtime, weekends, and extended shifts as required.
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
- Completion of a welding certification program or vocational training preferred.
- Minimum of 1 year of welding experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting preferred.
- Experience in MIG and/or TIG welding techniques preferred.
- Familiarity with reading and interpreting blueprints and welding symbols is a plus.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs. regularly.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive welding tasks.
- Requires manual dexterity, hand-eye coordination, and physical stamina.
- Exposure to heat, sparks, and welding fumes; must wear appropriate protective equipment.
- Ability to work in a noisy and industrial environment while adhering to safety regulations.
