Position Overview:
The Program & Events Coordinator will manage the TAK PAK program and lead the planning and execution of TAK’s fundraisers and community events. This role involves working closely with the staff, volunteers, community partners, and donors to ensure successful event outcomes and meaningful volunteer experiences. Interested candidates should be flexible, organized, self-starters who are able to work independently and comfortable in a cross-functional team environment. This position is ideal for an individual who is naturally engaging, assertive, and detail-oriented.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Event Management, Nonprofit Management, Communications, or a related field (or equivalent experience) is preferred
- Proven experience in event planning and volunteer management, preferably in a nonprofit setting
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Proficient in Google Suite and project management programs (Monday or similar) preferred
- Passion for TAK’s mission and a commitment to making a positive impact in the foster care community
Additional Requirements:
- This position may require occasional evening and weekend work as needed.
- Must have a vehicle, valid driver's license, and auto insurance. Local travel may be required to attend events and meetings.
- May require lifting/carrying items up to 50 pounds.
Key Responsibilities
TAK Fundraisers:
- Collaborate with the Fundraising committee to help plan two annual fundraising events, secure sponsorships, set event timeline, and delegate responsibilities.
- Develop event concepts, themes, and timelines in collaboration with staff and board.
- Coordinate event logistics, including venue selection, vendor management, catering, entertainment, volunteers, and equipment rentals.
- Manage event budgets, ensuring cost-effective solutions and staying within financial constraints.
- Work closely with the Director of Strategy & Communications to plan event promotions for social media, email marketing, and community partnerships.
- Oversee event setup, execution, and breakdown, ensuring a smooth and successful experience for all participants.
- Evaluate the success of events and programs by gathering feedback from participants, staff, and volunteers to implement improvements for future events.
TAK Community Events:
- Lead four annual TAK Community Events– Easter Egg Hunt, EFC Graduation Celebration, Very Merry Christmas Parade, and EFC Christmas Celebration.
- Collaborate with the Director of Operations and volunteers on the Back-to-School drive, Parade Toy Drive, and Christmas Wish Lists.
- Secure vendors, sponsorships, partnerships, and volunteers for the success of community events.
TAK PAK Program Responsibilities:
- Maintain TAK PAK inventory, including tracking donations, and coordinating distributions.
- Manage the TAK PAK interest inquiries and donation process.
- Attend TAK PAK events, overseeing the logistics and ensuring events run smoothly.
- Communicate with social workers for TAK PAK needs and distribution.
- Develop and implement strategies to grow the TAK PAK program, expanding its reach and impact across communities.
Salary : $20 - $25
